The number of children living in poverty is absolutely astonishing, not to mention completely avoidable. Did you realize that nearly HALF of all children (one billion of the 2.2 billion) in the world are currently living in
poverty, and subsequently go hungry on a regular basis? In fact, every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger!
Malnutrition is the root cause of more than HALF of all child deaths worldwide – a proportion unmatched by any infectious disease since the Black Death in the 1300s.
HALF UNITED feeding projects take place in numerous countries across the globe. Every time you purchase a HALF product, an entire week’s worth of meals is given to a child in need! As soon as you purchase a t-shirt, or a necklace, or any other HALF UNITED product food funds are immediately given to our partnering organizations (how cool is that?)!
We feel it is important for you to know that HALF UNITED only partners with organizations who have proven track records of keeping strict financial records and can prove that the funds from your purchases are strictly used to provide meals for children.
Another thrilling detail we’d like you to know is that all of our partners mostly or only serve locally grown foods! Why is this important? Well, for a few reasons. First off, when you eat locally grown foods you are not only getting fresh, and often organic fruits and vegetables, but you are also helping to sustain your local economy.
